Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Resident Engineer - Mechanical for a data centre project in Kuala Lumpur. You will supervise daily mechanical installation activities, review technical drawings and submittals, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and at least 3 years of data centre experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with design, construction and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience, including work on data centre or mission-critical mechanical systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical installation activities on the data centre site.
• Review and verify mechanical shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Monitor installation of key mechanical systems.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with mechanical standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Ensure contractors follow quality standards, approved procedures, and project timelines.
• Resolve site-level technical issues or elevate to design/engineering teams.
• Maintain inspection logs, daily reports, punch lists, and handover documents.
• Enforce mechanical safety practices and general HSE compliance on site.
