Job description

We have vacancies at our new daycare cancer centre in Kuala Lumpur and are seeking suitable candidates to join us as Oncology Nurses.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of clinical knowledge and skills relating to oncology nursing to provide clinical and professional guidance to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate ability to function in complex clinical situations while providing support and direction to registered nurses.
  • Perform and assist the specialist in haematology procedures including bone marrow biopsy and aspiration, intrathecal therapy, and apheresis.
  • Ensure comprehensive health assessment of patients.
  • Ensure documentation is aligned with current legislation requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care for patients and their families.
  • Safe handling and administration of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments to patients.
  • Educate and support patient/family throughout continuum of care.
  • Perform phlebotomy, cannulation and insertion of venous access devices.
  • Medication counselling.
  • Ensure good communication with peers, patients and those referring in to the service.
  • Work closely with the managers and organisation to ensure the provision of safe and efficient services.
  • Work closely with the managers and organisation to maintain best standards of practice in accordance to international accreditation standards and Ministry of Health regulations.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Possess a valid APC
  • Post-basic in Oncology Nursing will be desirable
  • Minimum of four (4) years of working experience in oncology care is required
