Job summary

BM TEK SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our construction project management team in Mount Austin, Johor. The role focuses on planning, execution and completion of projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and high-quality standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily site activities, progress reporting, quality inspections, and collaboration with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• 2-4 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies and best practices
• Proficiency with project management software and tools, e.g. CAD software, as well as Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
• Problem-solving ability and resourcefulness in addressing site challenges
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standards is advantageous
• Willingness to work on site and travel to project locations as required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with project timelines and specifications
• Monitor project progress and prepare comprehensive reports detailing milestones, deliverables and any variances from the planned schedule
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets required standards and contractual obligations
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective communication and timely procurement of materials and resources
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts and correspondence
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and site issues in a timely manner
• Support budgeting and cost control activities, tracking expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency
• Assist in health, safety and environmental compliance on site, promoting best practices and adhering to regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to develop and refine construction methodologies
• Prepare reports and updates for project stakeholders, including clients and senior management
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure systems perform as designed and meet operational requirements.
• Ensuring completion of punch list items, submission of as-built documents, and successful project handover to the client.
