Job description

Duties:

Maintain and strengthen carrier relationship on operational levels.

Support sea logistic procurement and carrier relation management.

Execute pricing strategies by liaising on pricing and RFQ preparation.

Actively exchange of information/knowledge within the team and other stakeholders.

Stakeholder management include working with sales, agent, and commercial department to review and conduct sourcing strategy to ensure that categories and product delivers the strategy.

Provide timely responses to rate requests, finding mutual solutions for profit maximization.

Set selling prices within given bandwidths as per local conditions and pricing policy.

Direct the organization to book shipments based on carrier agreements or lowest.

Ensure full transparency on current freight rate levels with Customer Service and Sales Team.

Support and exchange information with others to gain new, retain or further develop existing accounts.

Get involved and assist business owners for non-standard RFQ related request.

Seek out customer feedback to drive improvements.

Ensure that databases are always up to date with most relevant pricing information.

Responsible for departmental performance and staff progress development.

Carry out any other duties as instructed by superior from time to time.

Perform any other duties as required by the Management from time to time.

Requirements:

Education: Tertiary qualifications in any course.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales/business development experience in Logistics/Freight-forwarding.

Language: Effective verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, vendors.

Industry Knowledge: Solid and demonstrated working knowledge in Freight Forwarding Industry.

Ability to research, identify, tackle, grow, and close business opportunities ensuring the needed support from product and operations.

Results-driven, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Great negotiation, consultative, and relationship management skills. •

Ability to manage priorities, be organized, methodical, and deal well under pressure
