An established industry player is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator to enhance workplace safety and environmental compliance. This role involves developing and implementing effective EHS policies, conducting inspections, and providing training to employees. Support the development of OHS and Environmental policies and programs.
Implement and maintain effective EHS policies, procedures, and programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.).
Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Provide training and support to employees on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Liaise with authority bodies (e.g., JKKP, BOMBA, DOE) and ensure all statutory reports are submitted on time.
Sustainability & Environmental Management – Oversee waste management, pollution control, and energy efficiency initiatives. Ensure compliance with environmental laws.
In charge of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Safety and Health Committee, and other safety-related teams.
Conduct plant safety audits/inspections, investigate incidents and accidents, and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards across operations and equipment.
Ensure all safety and environmental risks are mitigated and safety measures are regularly reviewed.
Establish and manage the EHS Committee, including agenda setting, chairing meetings, and distributing minutes.
Maintain accurate records related to health, safety, and environmental management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and workplace well-being.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an OSH Coordinator in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA) and procedures, including compliance with OSHA Act 1994.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting statistics.
Proficient in report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
Experience in troubleshooting and corrective action follow-up for non-conformities.
