Job summary

NuEnergy Holdings Berhad is seeking an O&M Technician based in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, to monitor, maintain, and service solar PV assets. The role involves remote and on-site activities, with emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with solar PV components (modules, inverters, SCBs).
• Experience in solar maintenance is a plus.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors on rooftops.
• Able to work independently and respond to on-site calls.

Responsibilities

• Monitor solar plant performance via SCADA and on-site checks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on solar modules and electrical gear.
• Troubleshoot and repair inverters, cabling, and safety devices.
• Conduct electrical tests (IR, IV curves, earth resistance).
• Document maintenance actions and generate service reports.
• Ensure safety compliance and report hazards.

Job description

NuEnergy Holdings Berhad is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and is actively involved in the solar renewable energy business.

The company is expanding and we are now hiring a O&M Technician.

O& M Technician (Based in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya)

Responsibilities:

Routine Operations Monitoring

Monitor system performance remotely or on-site using SCADA/data loggers.

Identify performance anomalies or system faults.

Conduct routine walk-downs and visual inspections of the solar site.

Preventive Maintenance

Perform scheduled maintenance for:

• Solar panels (cleaning, visual checks)
• DC/AC combiner boxes, breakers, and fuses.
• Check grounding systems, surge protection, and wiring

Corrective Maintenance

Troubleshoot and repair faulty components: inverters, panels, cabling, isolators, etc.

Replace damaged equipment following fault diagnosis.

Log and escape persistent or serious issues to engineers or supervisors。

System Testing & Inspections

Conduct electrical testing (IR test, IV curve, earth resistance, string current test, etc.).

Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.

Use thermal imaging, multimeters, and insulation testers as needed.

Reporting & Documentation

Fill out maintenance checklists and service reports.

Record fault findings, repair actions, spare part usage, and time taken.

Support monthly and quarterly performance reporting.

Site Safety & Compliance

Ensure all activities comply with safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, working at height, etc.).

Identify and report potential hazards at site.

Requirement:

Possess a Diploma or Degree in related field.

Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge (DC/AC circuits).

Familiarity with solar PV system components (modules, inverters, SCBs, transformers).

Experience in solar maintenance is a plus.

Physically fit and able to work in outdoor/rooftop environments.

Able to work independently and respond to on-site service calls.
