Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nutritionist/Pharmacy Assistant/Dietician to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch nutritional and dietetic consultation services to our valued patients.
Nutritionists guide individuals and groups on healthy eating habits, often focusing on preventative health, wellness, and managing general health concerns through diet. They may work in various settings, including private practice, wellness centers, food industries, sports facilities, and community health programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Nutritional Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' dietary needs, lifestyles, health goals, and medical history.
Individualized Nutrition Plans: Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans, meal plans, and dietary recommendations based on scientific evidence and client needs.
Education and Counseling: Provide education and counseling on healthy eating habits, nutritional wellness, and the impact of food on overall health. This may include explaining the effects of nutrients, recommending recipes, and menu guides.
Client Monitoring and Support: Monitor clients' progress, adjust diet plans as needed, and offer ongoing support and motivation to help them achieve their health goals.
Health Promotion: Conduct workshops, seminars, and health talks to promote nutrition education and healthy lifestyles to a broader audience.
Product Knowledge and Recommendation: In retail settings, provide professional guidance on health and beauty products, recommending suitable products based on customer needs.
Research and Development (in some roles): Research and recommend new food combinations, contribute to the development of supplement formulations, and stay updated on the latest nutrition research and trends.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, dietitians, fitness coaches) to provide integrated care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed client records.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of nutritional science, healthy eating principles, and human physiology.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
Ability to develop personalized plans and provide ongoing support.
Customer-oriented approach.
Proficiency in local languages (Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin often an advantage).
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Pharmacy Assistants provide essential support to pharmacists in the daily operations of a pharmacy, ensuring efficient and accurate service to patients and customers. They primarily handle administrative, clerical, and customer service duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Handling Support: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including labeling and packaging prescriptions accurately.
Inventory Management: Maintain and organize pharmacy inventory, including receiving, unloading, arranging, and recording deliveries, and ensuring optimal stock levels.
Customer Service: Greet customers, answer inquiries, and provide information regarding medication costs, types, and basic usage (referring medication-related questions requiring professional advice to pharmacists).
Sales and Promotion (in retail pharmacies): Sell over-the-counter products, promote health and beauty products, and assist in sales and promotional activities.
Cashier Duties: Operate the cash register and handle sales transactions.
Administrative Tasks: Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, emails, and messages, organizing files, and maintaining records.
Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the pharmacy workspace and product displays.
Delivery (in some settings): In hospitals or clinics, may deliver medicines to patients and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or certificate in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Assistant, or a related field (or relevant working experience).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of drug terms and pharmacy operations.
Organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in local languages (Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin often an advantage).

Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals who apply the science of food and nutrition to assess, diagnose, and treat dietary and nutritional problems, often using medical nutrition therapy. They work to promote health and manage various disease conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT): Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, diagnose nutrition-related problems, and develop evidence-based individualized nutrition interventions and meal plans for patients with acute and chronic diseases. This includes specialized dietary prescriptions.
Dietary Counseling: Provide tailored nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers, helping them understand their dietary needs, make appropriate food choices, and adhere to treatment plans.
Clinical Consultation: Deliver dietetic consultations to individuals or groups, often in hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, health clinics, and long-term care facilities.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor patient response to interventions, adjust nutrition plans as needed, and contribute to clinical data collection and analysis.
Food Service Management (in some roles): Provide guidance to foodservice staff on suitable therapeutic diets, contribute to menu development, budgeting, and ensure the provision of safe and nutritious foods in healthcare facilities.
Health Promotion and Education: Participate in health promotion activities, develop educational content, and conduct training sessions on various nutrition topics.
Research: Engage in research studies within the department or in collaboration with medical teams.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or equivalent from an accredited program (including supervised dietetics practicum).
Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Malaysian Dietitians' Association membership is typically required).
Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, food science, and human physiology.
Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills.
Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
