About the role

This is a full-time position located in Shah Alam, Selangor. As a NQAC Lab Technician (Chemistry Lab) at Nestlé Malaysia, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's quality assurance and control processes. This position is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of product safety and quality for Nestlé's renowned brands.

What you'll be doing

Perform highly specialized or expensive analyses e.g. vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acid profile, FOS/GOS, fatty acid profile and etc that required the basic understanding of the principle and theory of the tests and is intended to specialize in these analyses.

Manage/ handle sophisticate, state of art analytical instruments i.e. Gas Chromatography (GC), High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Inductive Couple Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrophotometer (ICP-OES), etc independently or with minimum supervision and understanding of its field of application.

Assist in the implementation of new method and conduct validation under supervision.

Process/interpret analytical data generated from the sophisticated analytical instruments e.g. GC, HPLC, ICP-OES, etc.

Basic competency required in troubleshooting (method/equipment) to identify and trouble shoot potential sources of error arising/associated with the test performed.

Conduct troubleshooting of method/instrumentation in case of deviation under supervision.

Inform superior of any deviation observed on analytical results and issues related to laboratory activities (safety, organization, etc.)

Responsible for conducting laboratory testing according to test procedures, safety measures and established plan.

Act as relief technician in areas other than his/her present areas whenever need arises

Document test results, maintain all laboratory test reports and key in the results in LIMS. Assist superior to validate analytical results

To provide training to other staff or visitors in the field of expertise.

Ensures 5S / Good housekeeping / GLP in the laboratory.

Implementation and adherence to the Quality Management System as per the NQAC Quality Manual.

Adheres and assures safety in operating the equipment and handling of toxic substances/chemicals/reagents.

What we're looking for

Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working in a quality control or analytical laboratory environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail

Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, such as spectrophotometers, titrators, and chromatography systems

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues

Ability to work independently, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain accurate documentation
