Job description

The NPI Manager will be expected to support new business opportunities and site to site transfers from initiation through prototype and production release. NPI PM will work with the Senior PM’s, Customer Business Management, and Manufacturing Operations groups to ensure projects are accurately planned, resourced, and executed to schedule and budget. NPI PM will be responsible for regular reporting of status to both UCT and our Customers teams, and delivering customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the introduction of new products, from complex subsystems to complete turn-key process modules following UCT’s New Product Integration process.
  • Direct interaction with customers on product development, transition, and production release.
  • Communication and coordination focal for all internal and external customers.
  • Maintain project status, timeline, and budget.
  • Drive and promote an environment supporting continuous improvement through creative problem solving and judicious application of technology.
  • Drive customer team to process and hold them accountable to their deliverables.
  • Direct interaction with Design Engineering resources as part of the extended team.
  • Be the overall point of contact, maintain comprehensive and complete knowledge of the project, understand the critical path items and drive these for success.
  • Ability to recognize key customer points of concern and drive the organization to respond through direct efforts, including escalating to management the concerns in a tactful manner to prevent missing targets and goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possesses a critical thinking mindset to look for potential gaps and mitigate risk.
  • Self-starter and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-oriented and adept at conflict resolution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • NPI experience preferred, with knowledge of Product Life Cycle and Phase Gate approach
  • Experience in cleanroom manufacturing environment desired.
  • Computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office, Clarizen, CAD, Micosoft Project, Smartsheet
  • English/Mandarin/Local language proficiency desired (required for Asia locations).

Educational/Certification Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree/work experience in a related technical field.
  • Professional PM certification strongly desired

Experience Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years in engineering positions in design, manufacturing, or test
  • 3+ years program management experience in medical, semiconductor, energy, research, or related capital equipment industries.
  • Experience in capital equipment manufacturing in the semiconductor, energy, research, or related industries is preferred.
  • Strong track record in managing successful NPI programs.
