Job summary

Celestica Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager, Advance Process Engineering to lead development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for new products in Malaysia.

The role emphasizes NPI program execution, process qualification, equipment readiness, and collaboration with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure a smooth transfer from NPI to sustaining operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics) is required.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 8–12 years of manufacturing engineering or NPI experience. At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience in PCBA, networking products, servers, storage systems, or electronics manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of NPI processes and product industrialization.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, DOE, and Process Validation.
• Knowledge of SMT PCBA, Box Build, System Integration, and Test Processes.
• Experience in equipment qualification and capacity planning.
• Strong people management and team development skills.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation and system setup.
• Good understanding of MES, ERP/SAP, etc…
• Ability to manage multiple engineering changes and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI programs from concept through production launch.
• Drive ECN / engineering change implementation into manufacturing systems and documentation.
• Collaborate with Design, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
• Lead process qualification activities including First Article builds.
• Plan capacity and deployment of manufacturing equipment and tools.
• Oversee pilot builds and ensure readiness for mass production.
• Monitor yield and implement continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews and status reporting.
