Job summary

Randstad Malaysia partners with a well-established consumer products company to appoint a Product Development Manager who will lead the innovation pipeline from concept through commercialization, ensuring high-quality products and regulatory compliance.

The role involves overseeing formulation development, testing, pilot trials, and technical documentation while coordinating with Marketing, Regulatory, QA, and Supply Chain to deliver successful launches and develop a high-performing Product

Qualifications

• Requires leadership experience managing a Product Development or R&D team.
• Experience in full product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
• Strong understanding of formulation development, ingredient functionality, and technical documentation.
• Excellent project, stakeholder, and communication skills.
• Proactive, innovative, results-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development from concept to commercialization.
• Develop and optimize formulations for performance, safety, stability, quality, and cost.
• Conduct ingredient research, evaluate technologies, and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Manage product testing, pilot trials, and technical documentation.
• Drive market research, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarking to inform projects.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations for successful launches.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external labs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and industry standards for products and claims.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Product Development team and foster innovation.
• Oversee multiple development projects, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
• Experienced in Product Development within Consumer Health, Health Supplements, Traditional Medicines, Food & Beverage, or FMCG industries.
• People management experience leading a Product Development or R&D team.
• Proven experience managing the full product development lifecycle from concept through commercialization.
• Strong understanding of formulation development, ingredient functionality, product validation, and technical documentation.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• A proactive, innovative, and results-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
