Job summary

Celestica Inc. is seeking an Analyst, IT Infrastructure in Kulim, Malaysia to install, maintain and upgrade the site’s IT environment. You will support servers, networks, PCs and related hardware, ensure security and high availability, and work with Global IT teams to implement projects.

You will handle incident response, document procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement while communicating in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in IT working experience on hardware, software & networking.
• Degree or above in IT related course (Computer Science, Information Technology).
• CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience in a 24x7 manufacturing environment is encouraged.

Summary

The Analyst, IT Infrastructure will install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the site's operating environment, ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance and security of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring and up keeping the operating environments; responding to incidents & problems, deployment of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and telephony services, and the acquisition, replacement and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services.

Detailed Description

• Providing computers, networks, servers, IT & office equipment installation, configuration, management, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Plan, manage, revise and continuously improve IT infrastructure, network topology, cabling and interconnect (i.e. network switch/hub, Wireless Access Points, Firewall and etc).
• Plan and maintain High Availability on IT infrastructure (uptime on systems, databases, network).
• Monitor and propose improvement/upgrade for systems and network growth demands.
• Ensure IT Systems and computer are secure and are compliant with Corporate IT Security Policy.
• Daily monitor the IT Service Request/ Incidents to ensure timely correction of any incidents.
• Maintain a proactive approach in attending to user’s requests, identify and troubleshoot problems, enquiries, provide advice and follow up within a stipulated time to ensure the smooth operation of the end user needs and system availability.
• Prepare technical documentation, procedures and guidelines and update according to SOP.
• Performing IT daily checklist to ensure server room tidiness and ensure all IT equipment are working fine.
• Liaise with Global IT Team and vendors to ensure projects, services and tasks are implemented as per specification and timely manner.
• To perform any other tasks or assignments as directed by the management from time to time.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Good communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the Windows OS (server and client) and the desktop operating environment. Linux and other mainstream OS knowledge will be helpful.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
• Good knowledge of infrastructure service management & diagnostic tools and processes
• Able to provide technical support & explain technical problem in simple term in English
• Good knowledge of end-point security management tools and processes.
• Languages: Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English as need to communicate with Global IT counterparts.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Competency and experience

• At least 5 years in IT working experience on hardware, software & networking.
• Previous work experience at 24x7 manufacturing company are encourage to apply.
• Possess good & customer-oriented attitude, integrity, multitasking and able to work under pressure when necessary.
• At least Degree or above in IT related course (Computer Science, Information Technology)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
