We are seeking an experienced and highly capable professional that oversees the health, security, and performance of IT infrastructure at HELP International School. The Network, Server & Security Engineer acts as the first line of defence, ensuring our networks are fast and reliable, servers are stable and efficient, and all systems are well protected from digital threats.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal speed.
- Implement and manage network security protocols and access controls.
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows and Linux).
- Manage and monitor server performance and storage, including the SAN system.
- Responsible for server disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Perform regular system updates, patching, and preventative maintenance.
- Configure and maintain security systems, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to identify and respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide advanced technical support for network, server, and security-related issues.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for all infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support business objectives.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, security trends, and threats to enhance the school’s framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role managing network, server, and security infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and WAN/LAN technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with server operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux distributions.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA/CCNP, HPE Aruba certification, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator.
- Experience with cloud platforms.
