The Role

Position: .NET Software Engineer

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Location: City Square, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance IT applications, including implementing new enhancements, troubleshooting live issues, identifying root causes, and providing effective solutions.
• Design and develop new IT applications based on provided specifications.
• Conduct iterative prototyping to introduce and improve features in the core system.
• Perform design, programming, integration, system testing, and assist users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) while ensuring proper documentation.
• Create unit tests and end-to-end test scripts to ensure stability when deploying new features, and maintain existing automated scripts in Jenkins.
• Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and develop automated test cases to prevent recurrence of similar problems.
• Ensure all enhancements and fixes are successfully deployed to testing and live environments within agreed timelines, coordinating with end users, server administrators, database administrators, and system analysts.
  
  

Ideal Profile

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information/Infocomm Technology, Computer or Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with expertise in:
• Web application client-side technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript ES5/6, ReactJS, React Hooks, Redux, jQuery, HTML5/CSS, AJAX/JSON, NPM).
• Web application server-side technologies (e.g., ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, C#).
• Web GIS technologies (e.g., ArcGIS JavaScript API, ArcGIS Server REST API, GeoServer, PostGIS).
• Database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle).
• Code version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Additional advantages include:
• Development experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and/or AWS Cloud.
• Proficiency in open-source technologies (e.g., NodeJS, Leaflet, GeoServer, PostgreSQL, PostGIS).
• Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts (e.g., spatial analysis, map projections) using ESRI technologies.
• Experience in geoprocessing with Python scripts and ETL tools such as FME.
• Familiarity with agile development and DevOps practices.
• All nationalities welcome, but must be in Malaysia with 2 years of local experience.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment across Singapore, Malaysia, and India.
• Capable of working independently, with minimal supervision, while meeting deadlines.
