About This Role

- With a locally owned marketing and distribution entity in the healthcare industry.
- With full authority and accountability for overseeing and managing all aspects of the sales and marketing functions within an organization.
- Reporting to the Company General Manager.
- Overseeing both GP and IP channels.
- Supported by 2 managers and 20+ sales reps across Penang, Johor, Ipoh, and Central - Klang Valley.
Job Description
- Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy for the pharmaceutical consumer category, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape. Set objectives and strategies to promote and sell OTC medications, vitamins, supplements, and other consumer healthcare products.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of over 20 salesforce members nationwide. Provide guidance, set performance targets, conduct regular evaluations, and ensure the team is equipped to achieve sales and marketing goals. Take appropriate actions when necessary.
- Sales Operations: Outline and execute a consistent sales approach, evaluate country performance, and identify plans for local execution to align with regional commercial strategies, ensuring proficiency and output. The goal is to drive revenue growth for both current and future portfolio products.
- Marketing Campaigns and Promotions: Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities to create compelling messaging across appropriate channels to raise awareness, drive demand, and increase sales.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain rapport with key opinion leaders. Maintain excellent relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure the Sales and Marketing Team complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Manage sales pipelines, track sales performance, monitor KPIs, and implement sales forecasting and reporting systems. Analyze sales data, identify trends, and make strategic adjustments to optimize sales performance.
The Successful Applicant
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Has proven experience in sales management within the pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare industry.
- Has a strong understanding of consumer healthcare products and market dynamics.
- Possesses knowledge of ethical products/poison items and therapeutic portfolios (mainly OTC, vitamins, supplements, skincare).
- Familiar with the Pharma Distribution business model. Agility is essential in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates success in achieving sales targets and managing sales teams.
- Possesses knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Has an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
