We are seeking a high-caliber professional to join as MYS CTSM KL- Assistant Vice President - Custody Operations - Asset Servicing (Hybrid) (Internal Title: Asset Servicing Manager - C12) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you are expected to:

The Asset Servicing Manager provides leadership and supervisory responsibility, offering operational and service leadership, applying in-depth knowledge, and contributing to development within the area. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are essential. Responsibilities include managing volume, quality, timeliness, planning, and budgets, and motivating and developing the team through professional leadership, including performance evaluation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and task management.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage reconciliation and processing of positions related to Corporate Action events.
  2. Handle communications, notifications, and postings for Corporate Action or Proxy events.
  3. Identify, summarize, and capture instructions related to Corporate Actions and proxy events.
  4. Notify clients of Corporate Action and Proxy events from vendor sources.
  5. Liaise with clients for instructions on Corporate Action events.
  6. Reconcile and organize transactions related to corporate actions, ensuring effective processing within market standards.
  7. Support operational processes for timely and accurate client instruction execution.
  8. Coordinate with Depositories, Agents, Trustees, and Issuers for event details and processing requirements.
  9. Manage risks associated with client responses, funding, claims, payments, and processing.
  10. Prepare performance metrics and analyze processes for improvements.
  11. Monitor reporting on corporate actions, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  12. Act as escalation point for problem resolution.
  13. Assist in system enhancements, provide feedback, and participate in testing.
  14. Develop and maintain processing procedures and controls throughout the event lifecycle.
  15. Participate in client presentations and provide performance feedback on staff.
  16. Assess risks in business decisions, ensure compliance, and uphold ethical standards, escalating issues as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Intermediate to senior experience in a related role, 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of people management experience.
  • Willingness to work on Malaysian public holidays and extended hours if required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
