Job Overview:

UCSI Schools is seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging music lessons, developing students’ musical abilities, and fostering an appreciation for music through performance and theory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons covering music theory, instrumental practice, and vocal techniques.
  • Teach students to play a variety of musical instruments and develop their listening, composing, and performance skills.
  • Encourage creativity through songwriting, improvisation, and music composition activities.
  • Organize and prepare students for school concerts, recitals, and music competitions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures students' confidence and passion for music.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, performances, and reports while providing constructive feedback.
  • Integrate technology and digital music production into lessons where applicable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music curriculum and extracurricular programs.
  • Participate in school activities, including cultural events and talent showcases.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in music education.
  • Proficiency in teaching various musical instruments (piano, guitar, violin, etc.) and vocal training.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Passion for music education, performance, and student engagement.
