Job Description

The Motor Claim Specialist - Own Damage will be part of the claims team, playing a key role in managing all motor claims related to own damage for Allianz entities. The incumbent will support Allianz in managing the entire own damage claims process within the motor claims function, contributing to sustainable growth and profitability.

Objectives & Key Performance Indicators

  • Collaborate with Distribution, Product, Underwriting, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on coverage, policy intent, and wording.
  • Achieve annual claims savings and loss ratio targets set by the entities.
  • Manage claims effectively, including compliance with protocols, reserving, and managing service providers.
  • Maintain timely response and service level standards to ensure a positive claims experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claims Management: Conduct investigations, assess liabilities, and collaborate with legal professionals as needed to ensure healthy loss ratios.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Review and analyze claim trends and performance metrics, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Negotiation & Settlement: Handle escalated claim issues, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlements.
  • Communication & Coordination: Work with external stakeholders (customers, repair workshops, surveyors, investigators) and internal teams (product, underwriting, distribution) to facilitate fair claim settlements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance claim processes and stay updated on industry trends, legal changes, and best practices.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure timely claims processing and maintain service standards to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Recognized degree or diploma.
  • Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI), and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) from Singapore College of Insurance.
  • Minimum 7 years of motor claims handling experience, focusing on third-party claims within Malaysia or Singapore.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technology applications.
  • Strong knowledge of motor insurance policies, regulations, and industry practices in Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Meticulous, organized, and problem-solving oriented.
  • Open-minded, proactive, adaptable to change, and able to work under pressure.
