We are looking for motivated Automation Engineers to join our team in Penang, working on advanced solar wafer and cell inspection machines used in international semiconductor and renewable energy manufacturing lines.
You will be involved in developing and supporting PLC-based machine control systems for both inline and standalone automation equipment featuring servo motion systems, gantry mechanisms, and multi-axis synchronization.
This role provides exposure to full machine development lifecycle including design, integration, testing, and global commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC programs for custom machine automation systems.
- Implement machine sequences, interlocks, and motion control logic.
- Support servo positioning, gantry systems, and multi-axis coordination.
- Integrate PLC systems with industrial PCs and PC-based control software.
- Exchange real-time machine data and commands between PLC and PC systems.
- Support machine integration with robots, vision systems, and external devices.
- Debug and troubleshoot machine behaviour during development, FAT, SAT, and site commissioning.
- Participate in field commissioning and customer support activities (local and international).
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and vision teams.

Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Fresh graduates to 3 years of experience are welcome.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and logical problem-solving ability.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming concepts.
- Interest in machine automation, motion control, or industrial robotics.
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and machine behaviour.
- Willingness to learn PLC systems, motion control, and industrial communication protocols.
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and support.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with servo systems, gantry systems, or automation machines.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, TCP/IP).
- Internship or project experience in machine automation or robotics.
