Job summary

HFM is seeking a Mobile Enterprise Software Architect in Kuala Lumpur to design end-to-end iOS and Android architectures, define the mobile stack, and steer release strategies. You will write production code, build shared libraries, and modernize legacy mobile apps while mentoring teams across platforms.

The role requires 10+ years in mobile engineering, strong Swift/Kotlin skills, and deep experience with React Native, gRPC, and secure mobile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on mobile engineering, with several years architecting apps shipped to both the App Store and Google Play.
• Fluency in English; additional languages would be considered an advantage.
• Expert proficiency in Swift or Kotlin, with strong working command of the other.
• Strong experience with React Native and a clear view of when cross-platform is the right choice.
• Experience delivering real-time streaming data to mobile clients, including gRPC and protobuf integration.
• Strong grasp of mobile security: secure storage, certificate pinning, biometrics and token lifecycle on device.
• Deep understanding of mobile release engineering and observability: CI/CD, staged rollout, crash reporting and performance tracing.
• Excellent communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own release architecture, including build pipelines, signing, staged rollout, feature flags, forced upgrade and rollback.

• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and establish mobile best practices to support consistent, routine releases.
