PhysioMelaka is seeking a mobile community physiotherapist to own a Melaka district and build a steady, recurring caseload across Alor Gajah, Melaka Tengah, or Jasin. You will deliver care both in patients’ homes and in community settings, ensuring continuity and progress with minimal travel between nearby patients.
Role offers a monthly-equivalent income, ranging RM 2,500–RM 5,000, based on days committed and district covered, with degree or diploma in physiotherapy and MAHPC registration
The mobile community physiotherapist role sits between freelance home visits and clinic work. Instead of taking scattered one-off visits, you take ownership of a single Melaka district — Melaka Tengah, Alor Gajah, or Jasin — and build a steady, recurring community caseload there. It is the right fit for physiotherapists who want the independence of mobile work but the security of a predictable, monthly-equivalent income.
Community physiotherapy is quietly one of Melaka’s biggest unmet needs. An ageing population, more people discharged home after surgery, and long-term conditions like stroke and Parkinson’s all mean there are patients across every district who need consistent rehabilitation close to home. This role exists to serve them well.
You commit to a regular pattern of days — for example three fixed days a week in Alor Gajah — and manage an ongoing caseload of patients within that district. Because your patients live near one another, travel between them is short, and you can see them consistently week after week rather than as isolated visits. That continuity is what makes real community rehabilitation possible: you watch someone progress from bed-bound to walking, and adjust the plan as they improve.
Settings vary. Some sessions are in patients’ homes; others may be in community halls, care settings, or wherever a group of patients can be seen efficiently. You coordinate with families and, where a patient is under medical care, with their doctor or the local clinic.
You must hold current MAHPC registration and have the clinical maturity to manage a varied community caseload — often older adults with several conditions at once. Community work rewards patience, communication with families, and the judgement to elevate to a doctor when something is outside your scope. Reliable transport is essential, and a real commitment to your district matters, because patients and families come to depend on you.
Honesty underpins everything. You progress patients toward independence and discharge them when they are ready — you do not keep people on a caseload longer than they need.
This role is paid on a monthly-equivalent basis, typically RM 2,500 to RM 5,000 per month, scaled to the number of days you commit and the district you cover. A therapist doing two days a week sits toward the lower end; someone taking on a full district several days a week sits toward the higher end. The monthly-equivalent structure is what gives this role its stability compared with pure per-visit freelancing.
Degree or diploma in physiotherapy and current MAHPC registration. Own transport, and a genuine interest in community and geriatric care across a defined Melaka district.
