What's the role?
The role of QA Lead for Mobile Apps (Android / iOS) is responsible for planning and executing test strategy, motivating a team of QAs to write, automate and execute test cases and coordinate a geographically distributed development team to ensure high software quality. This position will also review system requirements, track, and analyze quality assurance metrics.
What does the role involve?
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured functional and non-functional test plans and test cases
- Prepare test data and ensure testability of features
- Host live testing sessions between various backend and front-end teams to ensure end to end testing of features especially for IoT oriented features involving Hardware & Software
- Get the testing done using the QA engineers in the team – but also be hands on to coach and guide them as required.
- Identify, record, document, and follow through system defect(s)
- Track, analyze and report quality assurance metrics
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products
- Influence others at all levels of the organization by using interpersonal skills
- Additional duties, as assigned
What you need is:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in software testing with at least 2-3 years in Mobile App testing
- Experience in working with geographically distributed development teams
- Solid experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum/SAFe) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
- Demonstrated knowledge of software QA & Automation methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality across the software development lifecycle.
- Developing standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
- Participation in mobile application projects implemented using Kotlin Multiplatform, with Jetpack Compose (Android) and SwiftUI (iOS), or similar frameworks
- Good knowledge of Atlassian toolchain (Jira, Confluence), CI/CD tool (GitLab), and test execution tools like Sauce Labs
- Demonstrated experiences in driving QA direction and taking people along a change journey
- Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bonus: Knowledge of Bluetooth connectivity, SDK integration testing, and Microservice architecture knowledge
