Job description

Perform precise alignment of rotating equipment, i.e., pumps, compressors, and relevant components, using specialized tools such as laser precision tools and dial indicators.

Assemble and install machinery according to drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications. Familiar with API standards of repair.

Diagnose and repair mechanical problems with machinery. Use tools such as wrenches, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments to make repairs.

Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely. This includes inspecting equipment, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn or defective components.

Conduct in-situ balancing for rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating components to minimize vibration and ensure smooth operation, contributing to long-term reliability.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct safety inspections, implement safety measures, and educate others on safe operating procedures.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications. Update maintenance logs, equipment manuals, and provide reports on equipment performance as necessary.

Undertake additional duties such as leading a small team to execute field activities in equipment removal, reassembly, and installation, and undertake responsibilities as directed by superiors.

Perform maintenance and repair tasks safely, adhering to OSH procedures.

Identify and report OSH hazards related to machinery and maintenance activities.

Ensure machinery is safe to operate after maintenance or repair.

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience performing alignment tasks for rotating equipment using laser precision tools, dial gauges, and other tools.

Proficient in troubleshooting issues for rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, cooler fans, caused by misalignment, installation errors, or component failure.

Strong diagnostic and inspection skills for troubleshooting various rotating equipment problems.

Knowledgeable in performing field installation, removal of rotating equipment, piping alignment, equipment leveling, soft foot correction, etc. Knowledge of the grouting process as per API 686 is a plus.

Familiarity with rotating equipment condition monitoring, particularly vibration analysis, is an advantage.

Demonstrate capabilities in conducting system flushing, hydrotest, N2 purge.

Knowledge of equipment repair works in a workshop environment. Exposure to welding and thermos spray is a plus.

Capable of providing technical proposals, preparing written reports, and maintaining regular communication with clients.

Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Ability to lead a team with minimal supervision.
