The Mill Logistic Manager will play a key role in leading, directing and managing the import export and raw material warehouse/logistics function of the Mill. It is a key member of the mill management team and effective performance of these functions contributes significantly to the overall operational efficiency of the mill.

Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities

Manage mill inventory levels: ensure on regular developing of inventory targets to support continuous plant operation according to production plans.

  • Ensure on disposition of obsolete materials to meet the needs of the business.

Monitor very near-term fluctuations in inventory level vs. target

  • Monitor near term production schedules
  • Identify priorities for available inventory
  • Combine replenishment requirements into unit freight loads

Lead warehouse operations areas to maximise performance.

  • Promote and monitor safety performance and cascade information/initiatives
  • Manage operating procedures and local security measures.
  • Ensure physical inventory control procedures include best-practices for achieving accuracy of inventory records.
  • Ensure techniques and practices achieve operating efficiency expectations

Develop business plans and strategies for mill logistics and control against these:

  • Develop, and monitor performance against, department expense budget
  • Develop warehouse infrastructure plans including buildings and operating equipment.
  • Manage or contribute to management of infrastructure projects

Lead Import & Export shipping clearance operation activities to maximize performance.

  • Ensure on timely and accurately of all shipping clearance.
  • Ensure all process is in line with Custom Regulatory, Local Law, Internal Control
  • Promote monitoring all purchased, sold or transferred imported and exported items.
  • Manage operating procedures.

Lead, coordinate and design the warehouse for efficient and safe work operations.

Lead the performance management and development of the team members through training, global performance management and career development tools.

Provide guidance and feedback to subordinates to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.

Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization.

Conduct regular performance review, provide coaching and feedback to improve employee performance.

Regularly assess the current workforce to identify the critical role and develop the succession plan and talent pipelining.

  • Degree in related discipline with minimum of 10 years’ experience worked in warehouse/logistic field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in management role.
  • Strong leadership qualities (LQs) with excellence interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Ability to make sound decision with calculated risks.
  • English fluency in both writing and speaking.
  • Having experience in SAP and warehouse design will be an added advantage.
