Job summary

ELTA ASIA MALAYSIA SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated Welder for our Manufacturing team in Malaysia. The role focuses on performing MIG welding with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and productivity, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Key duties include welding on sheet metal per procedures, interpreting drawings and symbols, inspecting welds, and minimizing defects. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of welding experience and is willing to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in sheet metal welding or similar manufacturing environment
• Proficient in MIG welding; 3G welding skills required or strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, stand long hours, and work overtime when needed

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on sheet metal components per approved procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations
• Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication worksheets, and welding symbols for accurate fabrication
• Inspect welds to ensure quality and implement corrective actions as needed
• Monitor welding process to minimise distortion, overheating, and defects
• Collaborate with Manufacturing team to meet daily production targets
• Support Kaizen initiatives and assist with grinding and general fabrication when required

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Welder to join our Manufacturing team. Responsible for carrying out welding and fabrication work with a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on sheet metal components in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Carry out fitting by interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication worksheets, and welding symbols.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality requirements and perform corrective work when necessary.
• Monitor the welding process to minimise distortion, overheating, shrinkage, and other welding-related defects.
• Work closely with the Manufacturing team to achieve daily production targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives and support other manufacturing activities, including grinding and general fabrication work, when required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal welding or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Proven competency in 3G welding, particularly vertical-up and horizontal welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
• Experience with MIG welding is essential. Knowledge of TIG and Stick (Rod) welding is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual work, lift heavy materials, stand for prolonged periods, and work overtime when necessary.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and continuously improve.
