Job summary

Axi seeks a detail-oriented Middle Office professional in Malaysia for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will own the daily reconciliations, platform health checks, and discrepancy investigations across MT4, MT5, and our proprietary systems.

You’ll coordinate with Trading, Sales, Client Services, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology to resolve issues, document findings, and drive process improvements with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in middle office, trading operations, or brokerage operations.
• Intermediate Excel skills used day-to-day: lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation workbooks.
• Fluent written and spoken English with precise discrepancy documentation.
• Familiarity with MT4/MT5 is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own daily reconciliations of client positions, cash balances, and Prime Broker accounts.
• Administer MT4, MT5, and proprietary platforms – back-office configuration, server settings, rebates.
• Monitor platform health in real time and escalate operational issues before clients are affected.
• Lead end-to-end investigation of routine trading and reconciliation discrepancies with clear documentation.
• Maintain records, enforce controls, and meet regulatory requirements across tasks.
• Drive cross-functional queries with Trading, Sales, Client Services, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology.
• Identify repetitive processes and propose automation or workflow improvements.
• Deliver on additional duties and projects to meet evolving business needs.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering an extended team absence — and it's a genuine opportunity to get inside the operational engine of a global CFD and FX brokerage. You'll own the BAU rhythm of the Middle Office: daily reconciliations, platform health checks, and discrepancy investigations across MT4, MT5, and proprietary systems. Complex escalations sit with senior team members, so you'll have real support while you build hands-on depth across trading operations, prime broker workflows, and cross-functional coordination at brokerage scale.

Your EDGE Assignment/You Will

• Own daily reconciliations of client positions, cash balances, and Prime Broker accounts — resolving breaks within your remit and escalating complex discrepancies with clear, documented context that gives senior reviewers exactly what they need to act.
• Administer MT4, MT5, and proprietary trading platforms day-to-day — executing established procedures for back-office configuration, trading server settings, and rebate processing with precision and consistency.
• Monitor trading platform health in real time, distinguishing signal from noise and escalating operational issues before they reach clients.
• Lead end-to-end investigation of routine trading and reconciliation discrepancies — owning the diagnostic process, documenting your findings, and drawing a clear line between what you resolve and what requires senior input.
• Maintain accurate records, enforce internal controls, and meet regulatory requirements across every task you own — treating compliance as a standard, not a checkpoint.
• Drive cross-functional queries to resolution by coordinating directly with Trading, Sales, Client Services, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Identify repetitive manual processes and deliver concrete, actionable proposals for automation or workflow improvement — not just observations.
• Deliver on additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as reasonably assigned to meet evolving business and operational requirements.

Are you the one?

• 1‒ 2 years of experience in a middle office, trading operations, or brokerage operations environment — a finance graduate with genuine markets exposure and the right mindset is equally welcome.
• Intermediate Excel skills you actually use day-to-day: lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation workbooks — not just a box you tick on a CV.
• A working knowledge of trading fundamentals — you understand what positions, P'L, and client accounts mean in the context of a live brokerage, not just in theory.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with the precision to document discrepancies and flag issues in a way that gives senior reviewers exactly what they need.
• Familiarity with MT4 or MT5 – Manager or Administrator access – is a strong plus.
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or Python for data work is advantageous but not essential.
• You ask why a number doesn't match, not just what to do about it and you stay with a messy problem until it's actually resolved.
• You flag issues early, take clear ownership of your tasks, and don't let accuracy slip when the volume picks up.
• Comfortable operating independently while staying connected to global teams across different time zones and functions.
