Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a mid-senior Back-end Developer (Java & Spring Boot) in Malaysia. You will design, develop and maintain scalable back-end services leveraging Java, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL for cloud-based deployments.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality software, participate in code reviews, and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud services is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven-backend experience using Java and Spring Boot, or strong Kotlin proficiency.
• Hands-on with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with object/storage services like Amazon S3 and RESTful APIs.
• Strong GitHub version-control and collaborative development skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and containerized apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Manage data persistence with PostgreSQL and integration with Amazon S3.
• Build scalable, reliable back-end components for business-critical apps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging and performance optimization.
• Support CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions.
• Operate in containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor applications with Datadog and investigate issues.
