Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a full-time procurement professional to drive purchasing activities for critical components and services.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing, assess vendor performance, and ensure purchases meet cost, schedule, and quality targets. The role involves directing buyers and expediters, developing purchasing policies, and coordinating with subcontracts and inventories to keep planned levels.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
• Responsible for the evaluation of vendor reliability; oversees the surveying of vendors to maintain adequate working relationship.
• Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
• Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
• Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts.
• Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels.

Key Responsibilities
