Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking an Intern in Penang to gain hands‑on experience in procurement, sourcing and supplier management. You will support strategies, monitor supplier performance and drive continuity, while analyzing data to identify cost saving opportunities and improvements.

You will develop dashboards and automation using Power BI, Excel and Python to aid decision‑making and enhance reporting accuracy, data visibility, and efficiency across procurement activities.

• Must be proficient in data analysis using Power BI, Excel, or Python.
• Fundamental understanding of procurement, supplier management, and supply chain.

Project Description:

• Gain hands‑on experience in commodity procurement, sourcing, and supplier management while developing an understanding of Buyer and Supply Manager responsibilities.
• Support procurement strategies, supplier performance monitoring, and supply continuity initiatives.
• Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and automation.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and automation tools using Power BI, Excel, Python, and related technologies to support procurement decision‑making.
• Enhance reporting accuracy, data visibility, and operational efficiency across procurement activities.

Desired Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and/or Python for data analysis, reporting, and automation.
• Basic understanding of procurement, supplier management, and supply chain processes.
