A leading engineering company is seeking an experienced Material and Corrosion Engineer to join their team. The role demands expertise in material failure analysis, working with microstructures, and adhering to safety standards in the oil and gas industry. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications and are expected to write comprehensive reports and conduct analyses. Willingness to work offshore or in challenging conditions is essential.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Master’s, or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Require API 571 certification or relevant qualification.
Familiar with material failure analysis, heat treatment, welding metallurgy, corrosion, degradation mechanisms, and API/ASME/ASTM standards.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in material & corrosion engineering in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
Ability to study and interpret the microstructure of metals for power plant and oil & gas industries.
Excellent report writing and root cause analysis skills.
Willing to work on-site (offshore/onshore) or in harsh environments.
Understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
Willing to travel for outstation and emergency jobs across Malaysia (company provides accommodation and transport).
Fluent in written and verbal English.
