Basic Job Functions:
- Develops software, configures high-level software packages, and provides the final level of support for First Solar’s MES systems and data architectures.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Troubleshooting and programming software solutions based on multi-tiered architecture using C#, VB.Net, XML, MSMQ and T-SQL, designing data structures, and using/configuring SQL Server databases.
- Experience in SQL Server reporting services (SSRS) and SQL Server integration services (SSIS).
- Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting windows mobile applications is a plus.
- Proven experience with software development life cycle, change management process, and version control packages.
- Object oriented languages.
- Proven ability and knowledge of computer technology.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Logical troubleshooting.
- Proven interpersonal skills.
- Global experience providing tier three support in manufacturing is a plus.
Essential Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create server-based applications to manage data, display reports, and provide status indicators/dashboards for information systems.
- Undertake projects as needed for new software systems.
- Responsible for expert-level support on global applications for manufacturing and database systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem solving for issues related to application, manufacturing process data & system data and assist administrators (server admins, network admins, DB admins) in troubleshooting enterprise-level problems.
- Provide support for First Solar applications and participate in a rotation of on-call support outside of normal office hours as necessary during critical times.
- Responsible for Incident/Request management & Problem management.
- Responsible for system downtime tracking and prevention.
- Work with IT/MES team to manage MES assets during system upgrades.
- Document recurring issues and present possible solutions.
- Interface with team members and stakeholders from other departments.
- Exercise effective communications levels and foster team building.
- Adhere to SDLC processes, standards, and compliance measures (SOx, etc.)
- Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
- Perform other assignments as required.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and Responsible Business Alliance policies and procedures that is enforced within the organization.

- Defines the integration build, accepts software modules from software developers, and produces software builds for loading onto the target environment.
- Uses appropriate methods and tools in the development, maintenance, control and distribution of quality and environmental standards.
