The Merchandising Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and performance of merchandising strategies in alignment with the brand's goals. This role involves managing a team of merchandisers, collaborating with buyers, and ensuring that the product mix meets customer demands while driving sales and profitability. The Fashion Merchandising Manager is a key player in shaping the brand’s identity through the careful selection and presentation of products across retail channels.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
General Responsibilities:
- Lead and own the entire “Merchandising pre-season planning process” along with subscribed templates, detailed analytics, and necessary documentation for the assigned Categories.
- Evaluate and document learning from previous seasons at article level for the assigned Categories. Review with Chief Merchandising Manager, buying teams and document report.
- Define and set season assortment strategy framework (number of lines, QTY per line detailed across category/classification/price-point level).
- Work with the buying counterpart to build and finalize a successful season shoe line in the assigned category which satisfies consumer requirements and results in profitable operations for the company.
- Generate baseline forecast – understand historical sales, past assumptions, demand drivers (e.g., market conditions, promotions), statistical tools, and demand planning strategies.
- Ensure all purchases align with the approved OTB budgets.
- Ensure all purchases are within the approved price structure of the category.
- Maintain the total number of lines (SKUs) in the category within approved limits.
- All orders can only be placed after samples have been approved by authorized personnel before forwarding to the supplier.
- Review merchandising reports and SIR, and take necessary merchandising actions.
- Achieve the assigned stock rotation annually based on the official yearly budget.
- Adopt best practices of stock management and implement necessary actions.
- Maintain an up-to-date delivery schedule and take immediate action in case of late deliveries.
- Implement actions to ensure aging stock remains within company norms.
