About the role
As the Merchandising Manager at Generation Two Thousand Apparel Sdn. Bhd., you will be responsible for overseeing the company's product planning, inventory control, and merchandising strategies. This full-time role is based in Kuala Lumpur and will be a critical part of driving the company's growth and success in the retail and consumer products industry.

What you'll be doing

Develop and execute the M-Plan/OTB budget aligned with company business goals

Collaborate with the merchandising team to plan seasonal product buys, review proposals with merchandisers for management approval, place orders, and conduct ongoing forecasting and performance updates.

Analysis past sales, promotion effectiveness, market trends, competitive landscape, economic condition, competitor, and customer feedback to guide planning and product lifecycle decisions.

Monitor sales performance, stock levels, allocation plans, and inventory to ensure product availability and operational efficiency.

Conduct monthly reviews of M-Plan and markdowns to optimize future buying decisions, protect margins, and ensure sales targets are met.

Reviewing & providing reports and analysis for both internal and external (principal) in order to ensure that we have the right product and the right price for the consumer – pricing activities, yearly marketing plan, product assortment

Working closely with marketing, visual merchandising, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment of merchandising strategies.

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of assistant merchandisers or planners

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience in product control, merchandising, or a related retail role

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good sense of fashion and apparel knowledge and market trends

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
