Job summary

Hero Market is seeking an Assistant Buyer in Kuala Lumpur to support daily procurement tasks, negotiate supplier terms, and source new products. You will work with suppliers and the store team to ensure timely deliveries and budget-conscious purchasing decisions.

The role involves monitoring stock levels, evaluating product quality and popularity, and assisting in trend analysis to forecast future demand. Collaborative teamwork and adaptability are essential for success.

• Assist Buyers with daily tasks including filing, sourcing, and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist Buyers with daily tasks such as filing of paper works, negotiations, sourcing of new merchandises, etc.
• Learn and assist in negotiating terms of purchasing with suppliers to achieve the best deal for the company.
• Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products.
• Follow up and ensure delivery of products are on time and compliance with the contracts of purchase.
• Assist with monitoring stock levels and plans for buying within budget.
• Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already on our shelves.
• Assist in analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends.
• Liaise with Department Head and Store Manager to ensure supply meets demands.
• Be resourceful for new products / festive products.
• Any other ad hoc task assigned by the Management.
