Job description

Merchandising/ Category Manager - Travel

Develop product vision by category, 6 months in advance of selling season by gender, category, and classification.

Analyze performance against plans for both merchandise and merchandisers.

Develop processes and practices around pricing, promotions, and markdowns to meet sales and margin targets. Establish pricing strategies with store associates.

Manage and validate model store program for assigned area.

Liaise with existing suppliers and negotiate contracts.

Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Job Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a related field is required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to predict and maximize trends.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for international and domestic relations.
  • Experience in training, managing, and developing staff.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management, build partnerships, and lead teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel).

This position is based at AEON Taman Maluri, Headquarters office, Cheras Kuala Lumpur.
