As part of Bidfood Malaysia’s commitment to delivering excellence in product presentation and customer experience, we are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Merchandiser to join our growing team. This role plays a key part in driving sales performance through effective product selection, display strategies, and inventory planning across the Foodservice and Retail Division.

Job & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales growth and improve profitability.
  2. Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends to identify product opportunities and competitive advantages.
  3. Select and source products that align with target markets and the company’s brand positioning.
  4. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules.
  5. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent product quality and timely supply.
  6. Determine optimal product placement and visual display techniques to enhance visibility and customer engagement.
  7. Create visually appealing and organized merchandise displays in line with brand standards.
  8. Conduct regular store visits to assess merchandising execution and ensure consistency across outlets.
  9. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory and supply chain teams to ensure stock availability and timely replenishment.
  10. Analyze sales data and product performance to identify areas for improvement and optimize merchandising effectiveness.
  11. Work closely with marketing and sales teams to support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and in-store promotions.
  12. Train and support retail staff on product knowledge, key selling points, merchandising standards, and effective display techniques.

Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the foodservice, retail, or FMCG industries.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good understanding of visual merchandising and consumer behavior.
  4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  6. Knowledge of merchandising or inventory planning is a plus.
  7. Able to work independently, travel for store visits, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
