Job summary

Icon Sunsuria Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Medical Officer to support Consultant Haematologists in delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care for patients with benign and malignant hematological conditions. You will coordinate consultations, investigations, treatment, transfusion support and follow-up care.

The MO acts as the clinical anchor throughout the patient journey, ensuring timely medical records, documentation and effective collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent, recognised by MMC.
• Valid MMC registration and APC.
• Experience in haematology, oncology or internal medicine.
• Good clinical assessment, patient management and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with Consultant Haematologists.

Job description

The Medical Officer (MO) supports Consultant Haematologists in delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care, serving as their key clinical support in the day-to-day management, monitoring and coordination of patients with benign and malignant haematological conditions.

The MO acts as the clinical anchor throughout the patient journey, coordinating consultations, investigations, treatment, transfusion support and follow-up care. The role requires a high degree of clinical vigilance, attention to detail and ownership, as patients often require complex, longitudinal management and close monitoring of investigations, treatment responses and evolving clinical conditions.

Working within the approved scope of practice, the MO performs clinical assessments, reviews and follows up on investigations, monitors patient progress, identifies and escalates clinical concerns, and ensures that treatment plans, medical records and clinical documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The role also supports the Consultant Haematologist in medical reports, insurance matters, multidisciplinary communication and care coordination, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical governance and professional conduct.

Requirements

MBBS/MD or equivalent, recognised by MMC.

Valid MMC registration and APC.

Experience in haematology, oncology or internal medicine is preferred.

Good clinical assessment, patient management and communication skills.

Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with Consultant Haematologists.
