Job summary

KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital invites medical professionals to join our team. The role focuses on assessing patient conditions, coordinating with consultants and nursing staff, and responding to emergencies across A&E and wards.

You'll explain preliminary diagnoses to patients, assist with rosters, and support quality and safety initiatives aligned with ISO and Malaysian standards. We seek dedicated individuals committed to high-standard patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' medical conditions and liaise with consultants and nursing staff.
• Attend emergency cases in A&E and wards.
• Explain preliminary diagnosis to patients before referral to consultants for admission.
• Co-operate with Medical Officer Incharge to arrange rosters.
• Provide locum support when required.
• Share knowledge with the nursing team.
• Participate in 5S activities and any new services introduced.
• Ensure patient rights policies and safety goals are followed.

Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008) To carried out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:

• To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;
• To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge o any duty;
• To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;
• To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.

Adopt the policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards Perform any other duties assigned by the HOS
