Medical Lab Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist (Batu Caves)

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Perform routine tests in assigned area of the laboratory; interpret test results and correlate laboratory findings with disease states; confirm abnormal results and discrepancies, and initiate follow-up to resolve them.
• Analyze technical problems related to specimen adequacy, laboratory data, and instrumentation; determine causes and rectify problems according to guidelines and procedures.
• Perform instrumentation troubleshooting to resolve problems; refer issues appropriately to instrument vendors.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding laboratory results.
• Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and staff.
• Adhere to customer service standards of the laboratory.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related degree in an equivalent field.
