Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Medical Science Liaison or related medical/scientific role.
• 1–2 years of experience in Dermatology or related area preferred.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to convey complex medical information clearly.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support the Medical Affairs strategy for the Dermatology portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and internal stakeholders to deliver medical and scientific objectives aligned with the company’s business priorities.

This role will focus on building strong scientific relationships, supporting pre-launch and medical education activities, and providing accurate, balanced, and compliant scientific information within the dermatology therapeutic area.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of the Medical Affairs strategy for the Dermatology portfolio in line with the integrated brand plan and business priorities.

Lead and support scientific engagement and pre-launch activities, including advisory boards, medical education programs, scientific meetings, and symposia.

Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), thought leaders, external experts, and healthcare professionals.

Provide scientific and technical support to external experts and internal teams on publications and other scientific or medical initiatives.

Deliver scientific presentations and educational sessions to physicians and healthcare professionals, both individually and in group settings, with a focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 thought leaders.

Gather, analyse, and communicate relevant medical and scientific field intelligence to internal stakeholders.

Support Sales and Marketing teams by providing scientific updates, product knowledge, and therapeutic area training to strengthen their medical and scientific expertise.

Act as a key medical contact for thought leaders and external experts across Malaysia, addressing healthcare professional needs for scientific and therapeutic knowledge.

Provide appropriate scientific support regarding the safe, effective, and appropriate use of relevant prescription medicines when requested.

Review promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy, medical appropriateness, and compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Manage Medical Information activities, including responding to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, pipeline, organisational, and product information.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure medical activities are effectively planned, executed, and aligned with business and medical objectives.

Ensure all interactions and activities comply with applicable local and global laws, regulations, industry codes of conduct, company policies, and accepted standards of medical and scientific practice.

Undertake other Medical Affairs projects and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. A Master’s or PhD qualification is an advantage.

2–5 years of experience in Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs, or a similar medical/scientific role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

1–2 years of experience in Dermatology or a closely related therapeutic area is preferred.

Strong scientific knowledge and ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to healthcare professionals.

Experience engaging with KOLs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach with a strong can-do attitude.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver tasks within deadlines.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong understanding of medical compliance and the pharmaceutical regulatory environment.

Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Malaysia to support nationwide coverage.
