Job summary

Grow Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Product Design Engineer (Mechatronics/Mechanical) to design and develop automated machinery for the agriculture sector. You will create detailed 3D models, drawings and schematics using CAD tools, and ensure designs meet performance, quality, and cost targets.

Responsibilities include prototyping, testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, projects, and manufacturing to deliver integrated automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechatronics / mechanical design.
• Proficient in using CAD software - 2D AutoCad & 3D Solidworks - is necessary.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication).
• Knowledge of PLCs, electrical control systems, sensors, and industrial automation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, drawings and schematics for automated systems using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Design mechanical components that integrate with electrical and control systems for automated processes.
• Develop prototypes and oversee testing to evaluate functionality and refine designs.
• Modify and customise designs to meet specific client or project requirements.
• Select materials and components to ensure durability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, user manuals, and assembly instructions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and successful implementation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders such as sales engineers, clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges during design and manufacturing phases.
• Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
