Mechanical Package Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a results-drivenMechanical Package Engineer (Rotating & Static)with experience in Upstream and Downstream oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, analysis, and operation of critical mechanical systems while managing project deliverables and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Design and Engineering:

• Develop and review mechanical designs for Rotating and Static equipment within the oil and gas offshore platforms, and downstream processing units such as refineries and petrochemical facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations for rotating equipment, piping systems, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Conduct equipment and materials selection, focusing on performance under harsh environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, pressures, and corrosion.
• Support the development of detailed engineering packages, including drawings, specifications, and datasheets, aligned with project requirements and industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, DNV).

2.Operations and Maintenance:

• Provide mechanical engineering support for upstream and downstream operations related problems
• Support in troubleshoot and resolution of mechanical issues.
• Conduct site visits for project site, equipment inspection, commissioning, and performance monitoring, both onshore and offshore.

3.Project Support and Management:

• Contribute to the planning, execution, and monitoring of small to medium-sized engineering projects.
• Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, and technical reports to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, contractors, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate mechanical engineering activities.
• Ability to Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure timelines and budgets are maintained.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor proposals and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

4.Safety and Compliance:

• Participate in project’s and its operation HAZOP studies, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure mechanical designs comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Ensure all mechanical systems meet offshore standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, SOLAS) and downstream environmental regulations.
• Promote safety awareness and adherence to best practices during all phases of project execution.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on upstream and downstream segment of Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with engineering tools and software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and familiar with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps, turbines) and static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers).
• Familiarity with upstream and downstream mechanical systems (Condensate, Cooling Water, Gas Processing and Treatment)
• Familiarity in LNG system is an advantage.

Project Management Skills:

• Experience managing project deliverables, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Ability to lead smaller engineering projects or act as a workstream lead within larger projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Familiarity with reporting progress to stakeholders and preparing technical documentation.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Offshore safety certifications, such as BOSIET or HUET.
• Hybrid work model with time split between office, onshore sites, and offshore locations.
• Travel to offshore facilities and downstream plants for site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Compliance with PPE requirements and strict safety protocols in all operational environments
