Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Penang is seeking an experienced HVAC Operations & Maintenance Engineer to ensure optimal performance of HVAC systems. Responsibilities include monitoring air handling units, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with teams for effective solutions. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in HVAC operations. Knowledge of Facilities Management Systems is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of practical experience in HVAC operations or related building systems.
  • Strong understanding of air handling units, pumps, chilled water, heating water, and piping systems.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management Systems (FMS) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Operation Specialists with daily operational tasks at PG and KM sites.
  • Collaborate closely with Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) partners.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges in HVAC systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for energy efficiency.

Role Overview:

The HVAC Operations & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, including chilled and heating water systems. The role requires ensuring optimal performance of building air handling units, pumps, and piping systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain efficiency and reliability.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in HVAC operations or related building systems.
  • Strong understanding of air handling units, pumps, chilled water, heating water, and piping systems.
  • Ability to independently plan, execute, and troubleshoot complex tasks using sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management Systems (FMS), including controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems, is highly desirable.
