A leading company in machining and steel sheet fabrication is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in sheet metal parts development. This role involves metal fabrication tasks, assisting production and sales teams, and offers opportunities for fresh graduates. Candidates should possess familiarity with CAD software and have at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years working experience in sheet metal parts development.
• Familiarity in using CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Carry out metal fabrication development works.
• Assist Production team with technical support and develop jigs.
• Collaborate with Sales team on Design for Manufacturing.

Job description

Mechanical Engineer (Sheet Metal Parts Development)

a) Carry out metal fabrication development works.

· Draft in-house drawings.

· Determine fabrication process and create BOM in SAP system.

· Work with purchasing to Purchase required hardware and material.

· Follow-up during fabrication to meet delivery deadline.

· Solve factory escalation issues during fabrication processes.

b) Assist Production team

· Develop jigs and fixtures.

· Provide technical support.

· Solve quality issues

c) Assist Sales team

· Create Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

· Provide technical advice during meeting with customer.

· Determine packing methods and draft shipping container layouts.

Requirements:

a) Minimum 2 years working experience in develop sheet metal parts.

b) Familiarity in using CAD software (Eg: AutoCAD or SolidWorks).

c) Willing to work extra hours if required.

d) Self-motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision.

e) Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
