MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL RESIDENT ENGINEER/ INSPECTOR OF WORK

Job Description

Ingenium Advance Sdn Bhd is a young and dynamic M&E Consultant firm involves in the mechanical and electrical consultancy works which include residential, commercial, industrial, mixed development etc. Currently we are actively involved in data centre/ mission critical facilities in Johor Bahru region.

To cope with our expansion and increasing market opportunities, we are now seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join us.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the consultant team in carrying out supervision and inspection of contractors’ work at site on daily basis.
  • Responsible in ensuring standard of material, workmanships, quality control of all M&E works are satisfactorily achieved and in accordance with approved shop drawings, material submissions and technical specifications. Inspection shall include date-stamped photographic records and detailed site diary
  • Keep proper record of all works including but not limited to tests, inspections, minutes of site meetings.
  • Monitor and report on the works progress and highlight to Superintending Officer (SO) on any delay in construction progress. This includes request from contractor all necessary mitigation measures.
  • To check all drawings and specifications and ensure the latest copy is kept in site office at all times.
  • To check and sign off daily, weekly, and monthly site reports submitted by contractor.
  • To issue Site Engineer Weekly Reports including time stamped photographs, including key issues at site, key risks (schedule/design), and key priorities for the following working week.
  • Attend site meeting, conduct site inspections, review Method Statements in relation to the project.
  • To resolve site problems raised by contractors and seek Qualified Persons consent on the solution if necessary.
  • You may be required from time to time, to be off site to carry out inspection during their off-site fabrication and witness of testing.
  • To work and coordinate with other site staff and to manage and supervise any RTOs (M&E) that may be engaged in their works. In addition, the RE’s duties include extensive fieldwork in both engineering supervision and project management to ensure the crucial aspects of construction quality, site progress and project budget are under controlled.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent
  • Candidate must possess Inspector of Work (IOW) certificate issued by Board of Engineer Malaysia
  • Required skill(s): Mechanical/Electrical Building Services Design & Calculation, Estimation, Documentation, Supervision, Project Coordination & Management
  • Knowledge in AutoCad/ BIM and able to communicate in Mandarin are added advantage
  • Able to coordinate, supervise and liaison with Clients, Consultants, Authorities and Contractors
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact well at all levels
  • Mature personality, independent, initiative, self-motivated and have good technical skills in decision making
  • Applicant must possess own transport with valid driving license and willing to travel
  • Minimum 5 years' of relevant experience in M&E engineering field.
