Job summary

NS BlueScope Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks a mechanical engineer to support project engineering and commissioning. You will manage design, equipment construction, and commissioning from a mechanical perspective, ensuring OEM equipment meets standards and safety requirements.

The role requires a engineering degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong AutoCAD skills. Experience with heavy industry equipment like rolling mills is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Mechanical design and manufacturing experience with capability to design, analyse and implement upgrades for heavy industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D).
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills on technical topics.
• Experience in mechanical equipment design & manufacturing for Cold Rolling Mills, Strip Processing Line / Color Paint Line / Furnaces is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project engineering and commissioning.
• Manage design process, equipment construction, and commissioning from a mechanical perspective.
• Ensure OEM equipment and engineering quality meet mechanical standards.
• Follow directions and perform basic mechanical design tasks.
• Understand equipment Intellectual Property contents.
• Prioritize tasks as directed by the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager.
• Ensure safety and zero harm.
