Mechanical Design Engineer

Icontronic Technology is seeking a talentedMechanical Engineerto join our team inBukit Mertajam, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible fordesigning, developing, and improving jigs, fixtures, and custom automation machinesto supportour customers' manufacturing operations. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work onexciting and diverse customer projects, helping leading manufacturing companies enhance their productivity and innovation.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop, and validatejigs, fixtures, and automation equipmenttailored to our customers' manufacturing needs.
• Analyze customer product specifications, production processes, and technical requirements to deliver customized mechanical solutions.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs using design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Collaborate with our internal project teams and directly with customers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and solutions are effectively implemented.
• Research new technologies and industry trends to develop innovative designs that improve customer manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Manage design projects from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and final delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and reports for customer handover.
• Provide technical support and advice during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree inMechanical Engineeringor a related field.
• Minimum3 years of experiencein mechanical design, particularly injigs, fixtures, tooling, or automation equipment.
• Strong skills inCAD modeling and drafting(SolidWorks preferred).
• Good understanding ofmanufacturing processes,machine elements,pneumatics, and basicautomation systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working directly with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
