Key responsibilities
- Create, develop, and update mechanical designs and technical drawings for mechanical parts and components.
- Verify and validate new mechanical designs, tooling, and related technical solutions.
- Design and develop mechanical parts involving plastic, metal, rubber, artwork, and packaging.
- Ensure mechanical designs and product developments meet cost, quality, performance, and delivery requirements.
- Oversee tooling fabrication, modification, and improvement for plastic, metal, and rubber parts.
- Take responsibility for mechanical design and development throughout the new product development process, from Industrial Design and Prototyping through to Mass Production.
- Support and improve existing product mechanical designs to enhance functionality, quality, and manufacturability.
- Maintain proper and accurate design change records and documentation.
- Take ownership and accountability for mechanical design activities within assigned projects, working closely with the R&D team and other relevant departments.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in the design and development of mechanical parts, including plastic, metal, rubber, artwork, and packaging components.
- Experience in developing Proof of Concept (POC) models and delivering prototype units to customers through component selection, model procurement/fabrication, and hands‑on assembly.
- Proficient in using 3D CAD modelling tools to create detailed mechanical parts and produce the required 2D technical drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance with standard design practices, including ANSI, GD&T, and general tolerance guidelines.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Creo.
- For Senior position: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and potential are encouraged to apply for the Junior position.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively with the R&D team and other departments.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills would be an added advantage.
