Job summary

Celestica in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an Operations Engineering Associate to support build-to-print activities and supplier qualification. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years in engineering, manufacturing, quality management, or SCM preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, FMEA and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier identification and qualification activities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design changes, and review drawings and specs.
• Analyze supplier quotes and bids; participate in quality performance management.
• Document NPIs (FAI, PPAP) and support MVP initiatives.
• Support department requirements as needed.

Summary

The roles and responsibilities of this position encompass"build-to-print"; commodities, with a

primary focus on supplier qualification, supplier quality performance, localization project

management, First Article Inspection (FAI) and Material value proposition (MVP).

Detailed Description

• Manage the supplier identification and qualification process activities
• Prepares engineering calculation, design change proposal, review customer drawingand technical specs, propose design recommendation
• Analyze supplier quotes and bids
• Part qualification, Tooling qualification
• Participate in driving the supplier quality performance management e.g., DPPM, SQIPetc.
• Document and maintain the records of NPIs (FAI, PPAP documentations)
• Any other activities related to department requirement

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Technical Tools: Strong understanding of engineering and quality tools, includingGD&T, DFM, FMEA, and GR&R.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Hands‑on experience with sheet metal and machiningprocesses, as well as a good understanding of secondary processes (e.g., plating,powder coating, anodizing).
• Design Software: Proficiency in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks orCreo.
• Industry Standards: Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949/AS9100 quality managementsystems.
• Project & Problem Solving: Familiarity with project management processes, alongsidestrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and inwriting.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel overseas as required by the role.

Typical Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, -Mechanical/Mechatronics/ Manufacturing /Materialsengineering
• 2-3 years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality management andSCM discipline preferred or equivalent of combination of experience
