BAC Asia in Malaysia seeks a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop engineered products and systems for APAC. You will work with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and application engineering to deliver cost-effective solutions with strong manufacturability.

The role emphasizes 3D CAD (Inventor preferred), BOM management, and design validation, with opportunities to apply digital engineering and AI-enabled tools to speed delivery and quality.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design or product development experience.
• Excellent 3D CAD skills; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
• Experience with BOMs and ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; strong communication skills.
• Willingness to thrive in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• Interest in digital engineering and AI-enabled tools is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and customize engineered products, assemblies, and systems based on customer and business requirements.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs.
• Perform calculations, design analysis, and validation to ensure performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Application Engineering to translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Support new product development, localization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, and service teams.
• Troubleshoot production and product issues and support changes and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, manufacturability, and efficiency.
• Manage assigned engineering projects with cross-functional teams.
• Explore digital engineering, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve speed and quality.

Purpose

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and continuously improving BAC engineered products and systems across the APAC region. The role combines product design, engineering analysis, manufacturing support, product improvement, and technical collaboration to deliver practical, high-quality, and cost-effective engineering solutions. The position will work closely with application engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to support customer requirements and business growth. The ideal candidate is hands-on, curious, agile, and eager to learn, with strong mechanical design capability and an interest in digital engineering and AI-enabled tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize engineered products, assemblies, and systems based on customer and business requirements.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs.
• Perform engineering calculations, design analysis, and validation to ensure product performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with Application Engineering to translate customer and project requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Support new product development, product localization, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, and customer service teams.
• Troubleshoot production and product issues and support engineering changes, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

• Manage assigned engineering projects and collaborate effectively with regional and global cross-functional teams.
• Explore and apply digital engineering, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering speed, quality, and efficiency.

任职条件

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Thermal Engineering, HVAC/Refrigeration Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in mechanical design, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product development.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor; SolidWorks, Creo, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar tools are also valued.
• Good understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, fabrication, assembly, and engineering drawings.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial product environment; HVAC, cooling, refrigeration, heat transfer, or related industries is preferred.
• Experience with BOMs, engineering change management, product lifecycle processes, and ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
• Strong hands-on engineering, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capability.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Self-motivated, curious, adaptable, and proactive, with strong ownership and willingness to work in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• Interest or practical experience in digital engineering, automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled engineering/productivity tools is preferred.
